Foglift was begun initially as a decision engine for guiding the college decision making process.  The guiding principal for the company was that selecting a college should be easier than getting into that college, and that since it is likely the most important decision of ones life, that some guidance in the form of objective data and objective criteria would be a great place to start.

After incorporation and the start of beta testing, it became clear that a previously unseen competitor had developed a similar offering which was given as a resource to high school guidance counselors for use with college bound students.  Since discovering this large potential competitor with a far more developed interface and user base, even though they did not have a public offering, a pivot became necessary.  I finally settled on data aggregation for college bound athletes and developed and launched Verbal Commits under the Foglift corporate umbrella.
